#NoAI
Leximation does not use or provide support for AI or features in applications that
make use of AI. We feel that any perceived benefits of this technology are
significantly outweighed by the damage that it does to the environment, the economy,
and the knowledge of future generations.
Leximation is all about providing automation to simplify mundane or complex tasks,
so you can spend more time on the creative parts of your job. AI is not just about
simplifying tasks, but also eliminating the need to do your own research. This will
eventually eliminate the understanding of how something is done, so you have no way
to know if it is actually correct, effectively resulting in the further dumbing-down
of humanity. Doesn't seem like it's worth the cost.
It's one thing to use AI for entertainment, which beyond the absurd waste of resources
and loss of jobs, may not harm anyone (unless you're getting advice from an AI bot that's
suggesting methods of suicide). But, I'm surprised that corporate legal counsel is okay
with using AI-assisted coding or using AI for documenting features, especially in
companies that create products that may cause harm (or death) if not used properly.
Even if the AI content is reviewed by a human, that's one fewer set of eyes to review
those all-important warnings or caveats.
You don't really need AI. You can achieve a higher quality product without AI. In
the long run, sticking with human-powered products is the better way to go.
If you're looking for help with implementing or leveraging AI, please reconsider.
